Project Zero

At Enbridge, safety is our top priority. That’s why we’ve been a proud supporter of Project Zero, a public education program aimed at reducing residential fire and carbon monoxide deaths to zero, since its inaugural launch in Toronto in 2009.
In 2010, Enbridge Gas Distribution provided funding to the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council for the expansion of Project Zero to an additional nine communities in Ontario.
Together, Enbridge Gas Distribution, the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council and nine local fire departments were able to deliver more than 2,700 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to Ontario homes in Ottawa, Barrie, Brampton, Lindsay, Niagara Falls, Hawkesbury, Brockville, Oshawa and Caledon.
We continued our support in 2011 with additional funding to the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council for the expansion of the program to 11 additional Ontario fire departments. This will result in the installation of more than 2,700 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in Ontario homes in Collingwood, Grimsby, Kemptville, Mississauga, Newmarket, Pembroke, Peterborough, Smiths Falls, St. Catharines, Vaughan and Welland.
Project Zero is the first new safety initiative that Enbridge Gas Distribution supported through its Safe Communities Program, which formalizes Enbridge Gas Distribution’s ongoing support of safety initiatives in the communities it serves.
